what i do if i'm ever stumped is find a phone book and open to a random page and pick any name (first or last) that sounds wierd enough to be a star wars name... *picks up phone book and begins flipping through*...hmm gunter, orlyn, neese, neth, payan... and you might even try changing regular names around a little to make them star-warsy like one of my back-story characters is named ryon but its pronounced the same as the regular "ryan" or do the same thing with everyday words

What I did for my character is took my name and changed it around a little. Also, for Master Odoy, I took Yoda, made it backwards, (Adoy) then replaced the A with an O. I hardly ever try to come up for names for sentients, because it's so stinkin' hard. That's why I like droids. All you have to do is make a combination of letters and numbers. There's this assassin droid called IG-88, so I replaced 88 with 12, and the official name of the Super Battle Droid is the B2 battle droid, since it's just an improvement of the battle droid, or B1 battle droid, so my replacement commander will be B2-111, because it'll be a super battle droid, with advanced intelligence, of course.
(Many think the supers are stupid. That's a common misconception. Actually, they are smarter than the B1s, but require a droid control program, because without it, they simply forget about targets after they move out of sight.)
